Product Overview

This oven-baking food container board is a virgin fibre solid bleached sulfate (SBS) paperboard, extrusion coated with food-grade polypropylene (PP) on the food contact side. It is engineered as the base material for forming rigid food containers, ready-meal trays, and oven-baking food packaging.

The board supports the full cold-chain workflow: deep-frozen storage at -18℃ followed by safe reheating directly in a microwave oven. Unlike PE-coated board, which cannot withstand microwave heating, the PP lining delivers stable heat resistance and an excellent oil and water barrier, preventing grease penetration, soup leakage, and delamination during heating.

The white SBS substrate offers high stiffness and good dimensional stability under extreme temperature changes, with no cracking after repeated freezing and heating cycles. Its smooth surface supports offset and flexo printing for custom logos, artwork, and brand graphics — ideal for frozen prepared food, pre-cooked meals, and baked food packaging.

Q1: What temperature range can this board withstand?

A1: It is safe for long-term freezer storage at -18℃ and suitable for standard microwave reheating temperatures. It is NOT designed for high-temperature baking in a conventional oven unless a high heat-resistant PP grade is specified.

Q2: What forms can you supply — jumbo rolls or cut sheets?

A2: Both are available. Jumbo rolls are supplied for your thermoforming machine, and cut sheets can be produced in custom sizes.

Q3: Is this board recyclable?

A3: It is paperboard with a PP plastic coating. Separation of paper and plastic is required for recycling. Please follow local recycling regulations.

Q4: Will the board crack after freezing and reheating cycles?

A4: The SBS base board has good low-temperature toughness and stable dimensions, and is designed to resist cracking under normal freeze-microwave cycles for ready-meal packaging.
